Hello! I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. You can read my bio for details about me, but here I wanted to talk to you about this blog…I want it to be what you want. So, please feel free any time to comment or email me about specific topics or particular information you hope to see me cover here and I’ll make sure to get to it the best I can! Let me know about any events or goings-on you’re involved in, too.

Keep checking back…I have hot local info sitting in drafts, ready to go.

Thanks for reading!

I definitely wanted to highlight some of the amazing Houston bloggers. Some of them have been reading for awhile, while others I’m just beginning to explore, thanks to H-town Blogs.

There are many types of bloggers: bloggers that make me cry, laugh and make me want to lick them (I probably shouldn’t admit that, huh? At least I didn’t include a link of those bloggers that I want to meet and immediately lick - yet). Sometimes they manage to do all three at the same time and I have to shield my eyes from my computer screen to avoid instantaneous retinal scarring.

Sometimes, I run across bloggers that are so amazing that I would turn green with envy if I had a moment to think, instead of running after a toddler whose favorite word is now, “NO!”

Christine over at Big Pink Cookie is a perfect example of women that have more talent than I have brain cells left. She knits, she writes and she takes some of the best portrait shots I have ever seen.

another-couple-kissing.jpgEspecially, of *sigh* couples kissing. I love this shot. Christine was in Galveston shooting some film for her friend, Shelly, when she heard some unexpected screaming/squeeling/crying. Mr. Romantic there on the left had surprised his beautiful bride-to-be by proposing during a trip to the Galveston harbor.

A little while later, after the accidental and incredibly beautiful coincidence, they hired Christine to take their engagement shots for their wedding annoucements at Eleanor Tinsley Park in downtown Houston. couple-kissing.jpg I wish the best for the happy, very photogenic couple. I promise not to drink too much at the open bar if you invite me to the wedding. Just saying.

Christine’s work can be purchased on-line through her business, Fresh Photography. If you live in the Houston area (including Conroe, Galveston, Katy, Spring, The Woodlands and Tomball) you can hire Christine and her associates to capture people and places that are most important to you.

Now, excuse me, I have to go find a tissue…and maybe a date for Saturday night.

About Houston, TX

Emerging from Houston's old oil town persona is a new "opportunity city" that prides itself on diversity, friendliness, and business and cultural offerings. Houston has all the perks of a big city - museums and galleries, major sports teams, corporate headquarters, and dishy local politics - mixed with a little bit of Southern charm. Where else will you find an artist that specializes in giant presidential busts, more restaurants per capita than any other city in the world, or a lovable muckraking TV reporter that loves to talk about slime in the ice machine? There's always something to see and do in Houston, and you'll read about all of it and more here.
